On Friday 15th February 2013, the Guild won two huge national awards – we won runner up prizes in both the Society Showcase and the Best University Society Award (both run by Ratemyplacement.co.uk) against over 2,000 other societies across the country of all types. The finals were attended by over 300 graduate recruiters and students (including our sponsor contacts) and winning the runner up Award for both, is an enormous achievement.
President Abbas Kazmi had the following to say on the day: “We are truly honoured to be recognised in this fashion and are delighted to receive the awards. This is a great achievement especially following our runner up award for the best series of events in the national RBS ESSA competition in June and this is all testament to the level of service we offer. These awards along with and our positive features in the Independent and Gateway national newspapers confirm our position as one of the country’s leading societies! We are very pleased that all the hours of hard work put in by the committee to make a real difference and provide the best possible service for our members and sponsors has been recognised today and we look forward to carrying on the great work!”
